YOUR BLUE MOUNTAINS
Hotel Blue is just 10 minutes' walk down the street from Echo Point look-out with its world-famous views of the Three Sisters. Echo Point is the starting point for endless kilometres of walking tracks in all directions, ranging from leisurely cliff-top strolls with spectacular views of the mountains and valleys, to more arduous tracks which will also reward you with glimpses of the many lush rainforest pockets, cascading waterfalls and ancient forests.
To explore the rainforest in a more leisurely fashion, take a short stroll from Echo Point to Scenic World. The Scenic Railway, the world's steepest incline passenger railway, will take you from the cliff tops down to the depths of the rainforest, where you can wander amongst the majestic towering trees and explore the relics of the historic coalmines. Then you can glide back up through the treetops on the Cableway. A ride across the gorge on the glass-bottomed Skyway carriage, suspended 270 metres above Katoomba Falls, will let you experience some of the most spectacular views of the Blue Mountains.
The Blue Mountains have long been a favourite haunt of artists, writers and musicians. Katoomba is a hub of creative activity, that not only attracts those whose favourite retreat is the serenity of the deep blue hills, but also draws travellers who come to explore the myriad of antique and vintage emporiums, wander through the local art galleries and enjoy the thriving live music scene.
