Situated within Melbourne’s Central Business District, the Hotel Sophia is a boutique-style hotel in a convenient location. Sophia is a new, boutique hotel containing 43 fully ensuited rooms built on the former Golden Age Hotel site. Named after Sophia Loutaris, who was reknown for her hospitality and warmth, we aim to bring that same generous spirit to you, our guest.
We are able to offer modern and comfortable facilities in a central CBD location, thus making our hotel the perfect choice for the budget conscious traveller or business guest, who desires attention to detail and a convenient location.
Most major attractions are within walking distance and Federation Square and the MCG are an easy tram ride away. So whatever your interests and desires Hotel Sophia makes a great base from which to explore the cosmopolitan city of Melbourne.
At Hotel Sophia we offer light-filled rooms with different levels of accommodation starting from our Standard rooms through to our more spacious Superior rooms which are perfect for the business traveller or a family. We also offer full disable facilties in two of our rooms. All rooms come complete with security card access for peace of mind and lift access is available to all four floors. Most of our rooms can be inter-connected into two or three unit suites, catering for larger groups.
All rooms have ensuite bathroom, wireless and cable ADSL2+ broadband wireless connection, video on demand, openable windows, voip telephone with basic home office functionality, heating, tea/plunger coffee making facilties, granite benchtops, hairdryers, ironing facilities, guest laundry access/drycleaning and all rooms have airconditioning and heating. Most rooms have King size beds with the remainder containing Queen size beds.
PLEASE NOTE: Production of a valid credit card for the full value of incidentals is mandatory for check in. We will not check in guests without a credit card. We require a pre-authorisation of $150. We are strictly non-smoking.
(Please note there are currently some building works taking place around the hotel but we are pleased to advise that there is no diminution in guest amenity).
