Mount Tamborine is situated in the hinterlands of the Gold Coast Hinterland is 45 minutes drive from Surfers Paradise and 60 minutes to the Coolangatta Airport. Mount Tamborine is often referred to as the jewel in the Gold Coast crown and that is just what you will find as you browse through craft shops, art galleries, magnificent cafes and superb wineries. With nine national parks on the mountaintop you are guaranteed to find a walk suitable for all ages. Curtis Falls is a spring fed waterfall that flows all year around with a sub tropical rain forest walk to the base just a few minutes from the car park. Because of Tamborine Mountain's altitude (around 550 meters above sea level) the visitor will see many exotic trees and shrubs which are more often at home in the cooler climates of Europe, North America and Northern Asia. The Mountain is justifiably proud of its famous beautiful gardens.
