The Noosa Triathlon Multi Sport Festival is one of Australia's most popular triathlon events and has a rich history of over 27 years. It attracts over 8,000 competitors from all over Australia and the world, many of whom are professional athletes. The event consists of racing which is held over the five days, from 27 to 31 October, with the main Olympic distance event (1.5km swin, 40km bike and 10km run) being held on the last day.

Noosa Heads plays host to the annual event, which proves popular with the competitors and spectators alike, who flock the area to not only experience the race but also the sun, surf and national parks. Outside the main event, the week is a festival for lovers of swimming, cycling and running which age group category races for those aged 7 to 80+, golf tournaments as well as a big after party.
